Shipping

Each new edition goes in the mail at the beginning of the month. Country eligibility for international mailing is flagged at checkout — final country list and delivery timing still TBD.

Billing

Monthly plans renew automatically by the 15th of each month. Annual plans are a single payment of $99, paid up front.

Refunds & Cancellations

Subscriptions can be paused or cancelled anytime from your account — no customer service ticket required. Cancelling stops future billing; the current period's issue still ships.

Missing mail

If your issue hasn't arrived by the start of the second full business week, let us know via Contact and we'll send another.

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2026. This policy explains what Mailbox 4143 LLC ("we," "us") collects when you subscribe, and what we do with it.

What we collect

Name, email address, and shipping address when you subscribe or update your account. Payment card details are collected and processed entirely by Stripe, our payment processor — we never see or store your card number.

How we use it

To mail your subscription, bill you on your chosen schedule, send account-related emails (billing receipts, address-verification links, service updates), and respond if you contact us. We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone.

Who we share it with

Only the services that make Mailbox 4143 work: Stripe (payment processing), Airtable (where your shipping address and subscription status are stored for fulfillment), and Resend (delivers the one-time email link used to verify address changes). Each handles data under its own privacy policy. We do not share your information with anyone else, and never for marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

For as long as your subscription is active, plus a reasonable period after cancellation for our own records (e.g., handling a late refund or mailing issue). You can ask us to delete your information at any time via Contact, and we will do so except where we're required to retain it (for example, tax records).

Children's privacy

Mailbox 4143 is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

You can review, correct, or request deletion of your information at any time via Contact. If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above.

Terms of Service

The subscription

Mailbox 4143 is a recurring subscription billed monthly or annually, or given as a one-time 3-month gift, processed securely through Stripe. Monthly and quarterly plans renew automatically; annual plans are a single up-front payment covering one year. We'll give reasonable notice before any price change takes effect for your next billing cycle — a price change never applies retroactively to a period you've already paid for.

Cancellation & pause

Cancel or pause anytime, self-service, from your account — no phone call or customer service ticket required. Cancelling stops future billing; you'll still receive the issue for any period already paid for.

Refunds

Because each issue is printed and mailed specifically for that billing period, we don't offer refunds for issues already shipped. If your issue is lost or never arrives, we will reship it at no charge — see the Refunds & Cancellations section above.

Content

The letters, 'zine content, recipes, and artwork in each issue are the copyrighted work of Mailbox 4143 LLC, for your personal use and enjoyment — not for republishing or commercial redistribution.

Limitation of liability

Mailbox 4143 is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, Mailbox 4143 LLC isn't liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your subscription; our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Physical-Mail Specifics

Mailbox 4143 is a printed, physically mailed product — a few things that don't apply to a typical digital subscription:

• Mailbox 4143 is operated by Mailbox 4143 LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. Mailing address: P.O. Box 4143, Arlington, VA 22204.
• Your shipping address is kept separately from your billing/payment details (which live with Stripe) so it can be updated anytime from your account without touching your payment method.
• Address changes apply to the next scheduled issue, not one already in production.
• Gift subscriptions: the 3-Month Gift option is a one-time $29 payment covering a fixed 3-month run, shipped to the recipient's address with an optional gift note — it does not renew automatically.
